Xuanhua Grape Hebei
Xuanhua city is well known as a grape city for its unique creamery grape, which is in green with white, thin peel, thick flesh and taste sweet.
The history of the cultivation of this kind of grape can be date back to nearly one thousand years ago, and it is said that this kind of grape was firstly planted here by Zhang Qian, who opened the Silk Road in Han dynasty. However, according to the historical records, people started to plant it in Tang dynasty, widely spread in Liao and Jin Dynasties, and flourished in Ming and Qing dynasties.
The creamery grape of Xuanhua enjoys a high reputation of “milk does not flow“. Listed as a tribute to Emperor in Ming and Qing dynasties, Xuanhua creamery grape won gold medals in Panama International Fairs of 1915 and 1922.
