Inter City Transportation
1) Air
Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is located 21kilometers from the city center, and is accessible from the city by express way. The Jiangbei Airport operates domestic flights to over 60 major mainland cities, Hong Kong and Macau. Besides, there are international flights to Bangkok, Nagoya, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Barcelona, Alma-Ata, Sydney, Munich, Dusseldorf, and Kuala Lumpur. Also, there are over 20 international connecting transit routes from Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai to New York, Washington, London and Paris, etc..
2) Train
Chongqing stands at the ending of the Chengyu (Chengdu-Chongqing) Railway, Chuanqian (Chongqing-Guiyang) Railway and Xiangyu (Xiangfan-Chongqing) Railway. Also, it is linked to other cities by the national railway system. Chongqing Railway Station is located in the center of the city. This makes it convenient for passengers to take trains to and from Chongqing.
3) Bus
The road system of Chongqing is quite well developed. It is convenient to take bus to travel between Chongqing and Chengdu. The bus will run on the express way and take only 4 to 5 hours on the journey. The ticket fare is RMB 150.
4) Boat
Chongqing is located beside the legendary Yangtze River and has long been an important inner land harbour. Water transportation is favored by many travelers both because of the comfort, leisure and the great views along the waterways. Although a boat ticket is cheaper, it is also much slower.
