Inter City Transportation
1) By Air
Dali Airport is located 12 kilometers from Dali city, on the boundary of the Fengyi Town and the Haidong Country. Passengers can find two flights here heading for Kunming and Xishuangbanna.
2) By Train
Passengers can take direct trains from Dali railway station to Kunming. There are scheduled daily trains, 1 in morning, and 3 at night. The journey costs around 8 hours. Passengers can buy tickets from 9:30am to 17:30pm everyday. The NO.8 bus runs to Guicheng in Dali from the Xiaguan train station of Dali.
3) By Bus
There are several bus stations in Dali. The main bus stations in Dali are the Passenger Transportation Station and Xiaguan Passenger Transportation North Station. Passengers can take bus to Kunming, Zhongdian and Baoshan easily.
Inner City Transportation
1) By Taxi
Visitors may find it easy to hail a taxi from Xiaguan. The taxis can take visitors to all the scenery spots in Dali city. The flag-down fare is RMB 5, and RMB 1.4 per kilometer. However, the price for STANA is RMB 6, and RMB 1.6 per kilometer.
2) By Boat
It is a good choice for visitors to have sightseeing in Erhai Lake by boat. Boats can be taken at the Wharf of Eel Lake, located in the north of Xiaguan. It is where the tourist boats are embarked. The boats set out at 8:30am everyday. Passengers need to pay RMB 70 to 80 for a ticket. To avoid trouble, passengers are suggested to buy their tickets a day earlier.
3) By Bicycle
Visitors can rent a bicycle to ride in Dali Ancient City to have a free and thorough sightseeing. The bike rental stall is located by the side of the Hongshancha Guest House in Boai Road in Gucheng of Dali. The rental is RMB 10 to 10 per day, and a security deposit is demanded.
