1.Q: Does every tourist to China need a visa?

A: Yes, you need to bring some necessary materials to apply China visa before you go to China. Travelers are required to apply the tourist visa, one of the types for China Visa.

A: If your passport belongs to US, Canada or England, a visa is not needed if you travel to Hong Kong or Macao for less than for 90 days. But it is required while visiting the mainland China.

3. Q: How to obtain a China visa?     

A: You may submit the application to the Visa Office of theChinese Embassy or Consulate -General which holds consular jurisdiction over the state where you live in; If you cannot come in person, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to drop off your application at the Embassy or Consulate –General; Please note that applications by mailing are not acceptable and will be returned. What’s more, no appointment is required.

4. Q: What is the difference between a tourist visa and a business visa?     


A: You are not allowed to be engaged in normal business-related activities, if you only hold a tourist visa. Because applying for business visa need a supporting letter from your country and an invitation letter from a Chinese company. The travel agencies will just provide the tourist visa for you.

5. Q: How many kinds of visas are there? Will Embassy or Consulate refund consular fees, if the application is not approved?     


A: Judging from the purpose of visit, the most popular types of visas consist of tourist, business, student, work, and crew. The consular fees will never be refundable under any circumstance. So you’d better bring the full information for application.

6. Q: What is the best time to apply for a visa? How to extend the stay in China while the visa is expired?     


A: The best time to apply for the visa is between 30 - 90 days in advance of the departure. Once issued, it is valid immediately. If you want to stay longer in China while the visa is expired, you can ask the visa office of the local Public Security Bureau for an extension.

7. Q: Need I take any credentials if I want to travel to Tibet?


A: Yes, besides the China tourist visa, a Tibet visa is necessary. The China travel agency will help you to apply for the Tibet visa. The passport and visa copies are required. The application fee is about 30USD per person.
