Pearl River Park opened in 2001. From October of 2001 to March 2002, the 4th Garden Expo was held here, which gave the park a great amount of fame, and some sites of the Garden Expo are still kept in the park.
The main scenic interest in Pearl River Park is centered on a hillside full of flowers and on the hilltop there is a two-story wood house called the "Baozhu Building"."Baozhu Building" is the summit of the park, whose stele is the masterpiece of Li Xiongcai-one of the scholars in Lingnan School of Painting. For a great view of the park, make sure to climb up to a top floor in the building. Some sights to see are Kuailu Lake, and gardens of magnolias, osmanthus, and palms. Evergreens are also growing abundantly in the park. In the evening, the lights from the Pearl River New City can be seen from the building. Additional attractions include water shows in the pavilion and tea tasting.
