About one km from downtown Guili, is this beautiful park that is a delight for local citizen and tourists alike. The park is named after the four peaks of Putuo Hill and the three peaks on Crescent Hill that make up the main attraction of the park. The seven peaks look like the seven star constellation Ursa Major. There is also Camel Hill, made of limestone and shaped like a camel, which is another great attraction in this park filled with hills and water.
The main entrance to the park is the Flower Bridge [Hua Qiao], an elegant arched structure dating from the Song Dynasty that crosses the confluence of Xiaodongjiang [East River] and Lingjian Stream. Further into the park, on your rights is Crescent Hill, named so because of its unique crescent shape. This hill has caves with hundreds of calligraphy carvings by famous calligraphers from the Tang, Ming and Qing dynasties.
You can reach the viewing pavilions, kiosks and towers all along the path to the top of the hill; each offers uniquely gorgeous views of the Xiaodongjiang River.
On the left of the Crescent hill lies Putuo hill and the Seven Stars Cave nearby. The Seven Stars Cave is filled with stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by erosion over thousands of years and carbonate deposits. The temperature in the cave is always at 20 degrees Celsius. Tourists have been frequenting this cave since they days of the Tang dynasty. In this park, near Camel Hill, you will also find a zoo, a botanical garden and teahouses.
