Inter City Transportation
1) By Air
Haikou Airport is located 20 kilometers from the city center. Passengers can take a taxi to the airport. There are daily flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and many other major domestic cities. Passengers can also take international flights to Hong Kong, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
2) By Bus
Hainan Province is on an island, and this limits the development of railway transportation. So bus transportation plays an important role here. The long distance bus station is located to the south of Haikou Park on Daying Hou Road. The expressway network makes it convenient for passengers to travel to cities within and out of the Hainan Province easily.
3) By Boat
From Haikou, passengers can take boats to cities in southern China including Guangzhou, Shantou, Zhanjiang, Beihai and Hong Kong. The fast boats depart from Haikou New Harbor, while the slow boats depart from Xiuying Harbor.

The bus system in Haikou city is well developed. The ticket fare is RMB 1.
2) By Taxi
It is easy for visitors to hail a taxi in Haikou city. The flag-down fare is RMB 13 for the first 3 kilometers.
