Xiuying Cannons Fortification is located at the Xiuying Village which is about 6km away from Haixiu Avenue. Founded in 1887, and completed in 1891 of the Qing dynasty, which is built to resist the French invasion. Xiuying Cannons Fortificaion, together with Humen, Wusong, Taku were known as China's four ancient Cannors. It was made up by five forts: Gongbei, Zhengdong, Dingxi, Zhengwu, Zhengwei, these five forts in a straight line up to 200 meters, artillery doors facing the ocean, and surrounded by sturdy walls.
Xiuying Cannons Fortification is not only the magnificent ancient military facilities of Hainan, but also one of the big military facilities of China. As the well-preserved Cannon which occupies the high value for studying the Haikou history and military geographical changes.
