Haikou (means 'Mouth of the Sea'), known as the 'Coconut City' and located at the northern end of Hainan Island, on the southern bank of the Qiongzhou Strait, on the west bank of the Nandu River estuary, opposites Lei Zhou peninsula of Guangdong province.
