Hǎikǒu, known as the 'Coconut City', is the capital city of Hainan Province of China. It is located at the northern end of Hainan Island, on the southern bank of the Qiongzhou Strait and the west bank of the Nandu River estuary. It is also the provincial administrative center of the politics, local economy, culture, and transportation.
As it was situated on an island at the northern tip of the tropics, Haikou belongs to the monsoon tropical climate. The total annual sunlight there is about 1903 hours, so Most of year is warm in Hainan and the annual average temperature is 25.0℃. And the annual average rainfall is about 1492 mm.
