Hangzhou Climate

Hangzhou of Zhengjiang province is situated in the north of this provice. Since it belongs to China’s eastern and is close to the southern end of the Grand Canal of China, on the plain of the mid-lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the climate is very wet. Hangzhou’s city center is built around the eastern and northern sides of the West Lake, just north of the Qiantang River.

The climate in Hangzhou is humid. And the seasons there are very obvious. The summers there are hot and long; winters are dry, cold and cloudy. The average annual temperature in Hangzhou is 16.2°C and the rainfall is 1450 mm.

If you travel to Hangzhou in summer, you will enjoy the cool season but suffer typhoon storms sometimes. Often the typhoon hits Hangzhou from the southern coast of Zhejiang with strong winds and stormy rains.
