Huai'an Local Life Style

Huai'an is a small city in the north of Jiangsu province. The most famous local celebrity is Zhou Enlai, the former Premier of the People's Republic of China.  In the past, Huai'an used to be a quite poor city, with underdeveloped economy and society. Nowadays, however, great changes have been taking place right in Huai'an city. For example, the municipal government has made active and effective efforts to attract more labor-intensive companies and service industries to set up companies and factories in Huai'an. In this way to boost employment, and improve local people's living standards. The positive effects in economy and society are very evident to see. A few decades ago, there was no modern buildings in Huai'an, which was a real remote place. The city's infrastructure was very backward, far below the normal standards for citizens'demands. The same was with the road conditions, the city roads were uneven and narrow. In the countryside, the roads were not paved at all. When there was a rain, the roads became too muddy for people to move or walk. And they could just stay at home.
Compared to the past, Huai'an has undergone great changes in both its economy and its city image. Thanks to the reform and opening-up policy, the city is becoming more open to the outside world.

They do more sports, tour, shopping, etc.. Private cars are bought by more and more families. On weekends or holidays, many families would like driving their cars outside the city for sightseeing.
