Cherry Blossom Park was built in 1999 and is the biggest newly developed park that showcases the Japanese cherry blossom as a main feature in its landscape. In the front of the park there is the Cherry Blossom Plaza that covers an area of about ten thousand square meters, which consists of manicured lawns, strangely-shaped stones, blooming flowers and classical Chinese pavilions and terraces. There is also an entertainment city, skating rink, swimming pool and other landscapes that include 48 kinds of stone statues of bears, rabbits, fish, deer and crocodiles. There are more than ten huge rockeries as well as peaks like Zhushan Peak and Zhurong Peak and scenic spots like Couching Dragon Gully, Cherry and Crabapple Garden, Peony Garden, Yixian Corridor, Dangui Veranda, Mulain Berth, Xiangling Pond, Lotus Harbor, Ailian Island, Plum Blossom Ridge, Lotus Wind and Moonlight Pavilion. Cherry Blossom Park also holds regularly scheduled exhibitions on art or local culture.
