Daming Lake, one of the three most famous scenic spots in Jinan, is situated the northeast of the center, in the north of the old city proper. The lake is an uncommon natural lake, and it is also the open window of the important scenic spots of the Spring City. Daming Lake is a conflux that is made by all the springs in the city with a much bigger area nearly covers a quarter of the old city.
The surface of the lake covers an area of about 690 mu, almost 53% of the whole, and the park covers about 1290 mu.
The lake is surrounding by many beautiful and pretty scenes. On the lake, kites and fish jump together, and the lotus fill the lake, the barges pass through the lake; while on the shore, and people come across the willows and the flowers. Among the beautiful four seasons, the cool autumn is the best time for people to have a visit and get relax. In spring, you can feel the warm wind from the lake, and the green willow waving in the wind. In summer, you can see the charming lotus with red and green. In autumn, you can see reed catkins fluttering in the air, and the water fowl hovering in the sky. In winter, without the bluish waves, but you can also enjoy yourself with the silver and white lake.
