In Kashgar, visitors may find that there are not as many places to have a drink as in other cities in China. In the city center, some disco clubs are scattered around the hotels.
The best choice to spend night life in Kashgar is to visit the bazaars, also called “night markets”. Especially the streets around Id Kah Mosque, they are even more alive than in daytime. Food stalls sell typical local snacks, including smorgasbord of steaming goat stew with bobbling goats' heads, rings of intestines, etc.
Local Uygur and Uzbek people wear traditional ethnic costumes. Older people wear Tumak or Turban, and younger people wear Doppa—a four cornered Hat with flower design or whit design and Almond with tomb design.
Local people in Kashgar are very friendly and helpful. Visitors will find it very interesting to get deeper into the local life in the night market.
