Kashgar is located in the western border of China, southwest of Xinjiang Autonomous Region. It's adjacent to Taklimakan desert at east, Karakorum mountains and Tibet Ali Prefecture at south, Pamirs at west, Aksu Prefecture Kalpin and Awat County at northeast, as well as the most western city of China in geographic position.
Here is the multi-ethnic collection place, the main residence ethnic groups are Uygur, Han, Tajiks, Hui, Kirgiz, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, Russian, Daur, Mongolian, Xibe, Manchu and so on. Therefore, Kashgar is a cultural exchange city between Central and West Asia, with the typical characteristics in song & dance, food, housing, etiquette, marriage customs etc.
