Jiuxiang (nine villages) Scenic Region, located 90 km from Kunming in the Jiuxiang Yi and Hui Autonomous Township of Yiliang County, is famous for its caves, mountains, rivers, valleys and unique minority cultures. The region's weather is mild all year round similar to spring.
Jiuxiang Scenic Region has 5 major atrractions: Diehong Bridge, the Sanjiao Cave, the Dasha Dam, the Alulong and the Mingyue Lake. The most beautiful is Diehong Bridge Scenic Spot, just recently opened to the public. It's six famous attractions are the Green Shady Valley, the White Elephant Cave, the Goddess Cave, the Lying Dragon Cave, the Bat Cave and the Tourist Cableway. This region is also rich in culture and you can experience this through folk songs, dances and local food. You need about three hours to tour this site.
You should bring along an extra change of clothes since you may get wet from the boat rides. The folk songs, dances and the local food are all unique and worth experiencing for yourself.
