The World Horticulture Expo Garden, located 6 kilometers north of downtown Kunming, was the venue of World Horticultural Exposition hosted by Kunming in May 1st until October 31st, 1999. The garden has an area of 218 hectares, 2.5 km in length, and 1.1 km in width. Over 69 nations and 26 inteational organization attended the exposition. The Expo Garden is consisted of 5 indoor exhibition halls; China Hall, Inteational Hall, Man and Nature Hall, Greenhouse, and Science and Technology Hall. It also has 3 outdoor exhibitions areas; domestic, inteational, and enterprise. There are also 6 theme gardens; Tree Garden, Tea Garden, Bonsai Garden, Herbal Medicine Garden, Bamboo Garden, Vegetable and Fruit Garden.
