Lijiang has a temperate plateau and mountain monsoon climate without four distinctive seasons. From the foot of the mountain to the peak, it has a very distinctive climate change. The annual average temperature is between 12.6 and 19.9 degrees Celsius. The annual precipitation is between 910 and 1040mm. The rain season is between Junes to Septembers. Non-frost days is about 191 to 310.
Marked by diverse topographical features, Lijiang's changes in elevation and landscape make for different weather all throughout the terrain. It has three different climatic zones, ranging from subtropical in the southeast, warm temperatures in the center, and cold temperatures in the northwest. What's more, vertical climate in some highlands can also be seen in Lijiang.
