Nanjing Climate

Nanjing, located in one of the largest economic zones in China, belongs to the downstream Yangtze River drainage basin. Nanjing has a humid subtropical climate and is influenced by the East Asia Monsoon.

The average temperature is 15.3 ℃, and the annual precipitation is 1106.5 mm. It is called the season of Mei Yu during the mid June to the beginning of July. Nanjing used to be called "heater" in July and August sometimes can reach as high as 40℃. The average temperature in this period is about 35℃. However, Nanjing has been a national green city in recent years, with urban greening rate of more than 30%. So more and more people like to travel to Nanjing in summer. "Heat summer and cold winter" is the obvious feature of Nanjing, so Nanjing’s climate is worse than the other significant weather features. Usually in December, when it snows, you will find it fascinating and even more charming than other cities.
