Shanghai, a most populous city in China, is the center of commerce, finance, culture in Chinese coast, as well as in China. As a fishing and textiles town in ancient China, Shanghai doesn't have a long history compared with other cities in China, such as Luoyang, or Xi’an, and forced to open to the world as an important port city since the 1842 Treaty of Nanking. At the end of the 1930s, Shanghai became the financial center of China.
After 1990, shanghai started to develop in a astonishing speed, since the economic reforms introduced by Deng Xiaoping, and in 2005 Shanghai became the world's largest cargo port.
Shanghai is one of the most famous destinations in China, known for its historical landmarks such as the Bund and City God Temple, and more modern structure: Oriental Pearl Tower etc.
