Suzhou lives in the scope of north subtropical humid monsoon climate, warm, humid and rainy, so the climate there is very wet and wild. Four seasons there is very distinct with obvious monsoon. The average frost-free period is usually up to 233 days. There forms a variety of unique domestic micro-climate, because of topography, latitude and other differences.


1. Radiation and Sunshine
The average annual sunshine time is 1965.0 hours, up to 2357.6 hours of the year of 1967, at least l630.4 hours of the year of 1952.

2. Temperature
General distribution of annual temperature changes with latitude. The scope of difference from north to south is about 0.9 ℃. Another difference is the temperature regulation on the lake area of the Taihu Lake, especially obviously in winter. The minimum temperature in January of Dongshan station, near Taihu Lake, is higher than in urban areas with 0.8 ℃. This kind of micro-climate helps the plants and fruits in Taihu area to live with favorable conditions in winter.


3. Precipitation
Suzhou different because of the terrain caused no obvious differences in annual precipitation with about 100 mm, most largely of Wuxian Dongshan, and the least of Zhangjiagang. But in the summer some of the local regional precipitation, regional differences are more obvious.
