Travel to and around Suzhou
●By air

Guangfu Airport in Suzhou is a small airport, with only a weekly flight to Foshan. Travelers prefer to fly to Shanghai and then transfer to a train for Suzhou.

● By Train

Being an important hub on the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Suzhou Railway Station is busy meeting and seeing off guests everyday. It takes one hour to Shanghai with a low price, from CNY20 to CNY50.There are also convenient trains to Nanjing and Wuxi.

● By Long-distance Bus
Suzhou connects the Shanghai-Nanjing expressway, Shanghai-Hangzhou highway and Shanghai-Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Anhui expressway. This makes Suzhou an important status in road transportation. Suzhou has four long distance bus stations. Passengers can take buses to neighboring cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Zhouzhuang, etc. Also, there are regular coaches to cities far from Suzhou.

The flag-down fare of taxis in Suzhou is CNY10 (for the first three kilometers), then CNY1.8 per kilometer for the rest. 50% of the price is added to the passenger fee when the distance is beyond five kilometers. The cost for taxis at night is more expensive.

Most of the buses running in the city only take exact change so make sure you have some small coins before getting on. The price of regular buses is 1Yuan per person. Air-conditioned buses cost 2 Yuan per person. Buses running from the city to the suburbs vary in price. Check the sign on the front of the bus to see the fare.
