Wuxi, an old city in Jiangsu province, split into halves by Lake Taihu and borders Changzhou to the west and Suzhou to the east, while the southern half also borders the province of Zhejiang to the south. Wuxi, also known as "Pearl of Lake Tai" and "little Shanghai" for built on the shore of Lake Taihu near Shanghai with beautiful sceneries and its fast urbanization and blooming economy.
As a 'land of fish and rice' since ancient China, Wuxi is a famous tourist destination as well as a major industrial city alongside the Yangtze River. Wuxi is listed as one of the fifteen central economic cities and one of top ten tourist cities in China for its splendid natural beauties and historical and cultural relics, including Taihu Lake, Lihu Lake Park, the eco-friendly Yixing with its intriguing caves, bamboo forests, tea plantations, Jiangyin, and the birth-place of Xu Xiake(5.1.1587—8.3.1641), a great geographer and traveler in Ming Dynasty.
