Xiamen, a sub-provincial city also known as Amoy, is located in the southeast of Fujian province and looks out to the Taiwan Strait and borders Quanzhou to the north and Zhangzhou to the south. Xianmen is one of the first five special economic zones and known as an ancestral home to overseas Chinese.
The main languages in Xiamen are Taiwanese language, Mandarin.
