Xian Nightlife

Xi'an has a history as old as China itself, but it is also a booming modern city with a big role in the economic development of western China, and a thriving tourist destination. This contrast between old and new is amply reflected in the city’s entertainment scene.
There is plenty of old China on show, and one experience that both Chinese and foreign visitors enjoy is the nightly performance at the Tang Dynasty Dance and Music Palace, when over 100 dancers and musicians recreate the performance arts of China's ''Golden Age''– the Tang dynasty.
Xian’s nightlife is vibrant enough to satisfy a whole range of taste and tempos and offers a fine example of how the site of an ancient civilization can blend well with new culture. Pubs & Bars are essential parts of a city's nightlife and the Chinese really know how to throw a party, both the younger and elder generations.
There is an abundance of drinking holes and nightclubs peppered around the city that feature a range of music and ambience, from Chinese pop to thumping house. For some quintessential Chinese entertainment there are performances at the Big Goose Pagoda such as the Fountain and Music show. The karaoke craze has swept the whole of East Asia; and Xian is no exception. Many clubs in Xian have karaoke facilities, among them Xialudi KTV, which is one of the most popular nightclubs in the city.

Xialudi is another popular venue, on the 4th Floor of No. 23 North Yanta Road.

This bar is the base of Xi'an underground bands. Performances especially rock roll are held here regularly. It is an ideal place to enjoy the rock roll music and have a good dance with your lover or friends.
