Travel to and around Xian
● By Air
Xian Xianyang International Airport (XIY) is located in the northwest of Xi’an. With complete infrastructures and good management, the airport well? operates over 129 domestic air routes to 70 domestic cities and 25 international airline to 18 cities overseas.
From XIY, passengers can take flights to the major cities and the travel cities within the country. Also, passengers can fly to America and many European by changing planes in Beijing or Shanghai.
● By Train
There are around 200 trains to pass through Xian Railway Station daily, including the CRH (Chinese Railway High-speed) motor train units. Trains heading for Lhasa from Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Shanghai normally stop at Xi’an Station. Buses, long-distance coaches and taxies are with easy access here.
● By Bus
The bus system in Xi’an is quite fully developed. There are 240 bus lines running in Xi’an city. Among them, there are 12 travel lines, 28 district lines, 4 night lines and 1 intercity line. The buses are numbered according to their functions and the district they cover.
Normally, the ticket price for the normal buses is CNY1 per person, and CNY2 on the air-conditioned buses. Long-distance buses charge according to the distances.
● By Taxi
Taxis in Xi’an fall into two categories. The ones painted in green are the common ones, while the black ones are the high-grade ones.
In daytime, the prices of the common taxis are CNY6 for the first 2 kilometers and then CNY1.5 per kilometer for the rest.
The prices of the high-grade taxis are CNY8 for the first 2 kilometers and then CNY2.4 per kilometer for the rest.
