By Flight
The Xining Caojiabao Airport (XNN) is located in Caojiabao, Gaozhai Xiang, Huzhu County. It is about 30 kilometers away from the urban area of Xining.
The airport is built in 1991. It serves as a very important transitional center in Qinghai Province as well as in the Northwest of China. Passengers can take flights to major cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Xian, Shanghai, Wuhan, Lanzhou, etc..
By Train
Xining is the traffic hub of Qinghai Province. Xining Railway Station is located on Qilian Road. The station has two trunks and three feeder railway lines, which radiate out in all directions. The world famous Qinghai-Tibet Railway traverses Xining. Thus Xining serves the transportations links between Tibet, Qinghai and Gansu Provinces. The Lanzhou-Qinghai and the Qinghai-Tibet railways meet in Xining, transporting passengers to Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and Qingdao, Zhengzhou and Golmud, etc.
By Long-Distance Bus
The Xining Bus Station is located at the Western end of Jianguo Road. The station is well equipped with advanced administrative systems and service establishments. With the construction of five main arteries, there are buses to major cities and counties both within and outside of Qinghai Province.
In the morning, long-distance buses to Dunhuang, Liujiaxia, Suide and Xian depart from the station. In the afternoon, buses to Yinchuan of Ningxia Province and some cities of Gansu Province depart from the station.
