The night life in Yangshuo, especially in West Street, is quite colorful and enjoyable.
West Street attracts tourists from all over the world, hence the nickname 'Foreigners Street'. There are many bars and cafes along the street. Famous ones are the Romantic Bar, the Si If Bar, the TinTin Bar, the Blue Bird Bar and the Global Café.
When night falls, the street comes alive with tourists, and local people drinking, chatting, singing and dancing in the bars and cafes. Peddlers wander along the street and play various folk musical instruments to attract buyers. At the beginning and the end of a year, the famous Beer Festival is held. Visitors may take part in the festival of music, dances, games and beer drinking competitions.
Local snacks like Tangyuan (dumplings made of glutinous rice flour), pot-roasted chicken, various porridges and barbecues can be tasted at different food stalls.
For a quiet night life, you may take a short walk from West Street to the Li River. The simple beauty of nature can be easily perceived when you sit on the riverbank and look at the golden fishing lights on hundreds of floating bamboo rafts and the rolling spindrifts in the river.
