Next weekend we will be on the overnight plane to China from Brazil. Since we are planning to visit as many famous, unique and beautiful places as we can, our itinerary is quite packed in two weeks and another two days. We will first land at Hong Kong, to visit Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Bay and Peak, Star Road, Tsim Sha Tsui Wong Tai Sin Temple etc., in three days, then through Shenzhen, we will take trains to Guilin to visit the places recommended on different web pages and many people loved-Guilin River Cruise to Yangshuo, from there, we have have one day to explore Moon Hill, Yulong River, West Street etc, and two free days to enjoy the wonderful idle life, the bicycle tour around Yangshuo.
Oh, dear, almost forget, the Longji Terrain is also on my check list. Then, we will fly to Xian, the capital of Tang Dynasty and not far from the capital of Qin Dynasty, so we want to see how flourish and splendid the ancient palaces could be, and the terra cotta warriors, especially the Famen Temple, which is said to have the one finger of Sakyamuni. When I got the information, hardly to believe this, so I want to check it. Later we will fly to Lhasa, Tibet, to see the Potala Palace and the Little Potala Palace. Do you know what is Little Potala Palace? no idea? Haha, that is a small monastery in Shigatse old town, seriously not the Putuo Zongcheng Temple in Chengde Hebei Province. Hard to believe it? You can google "little potala palace in Shigatse" The answer is in the flickr.com. Very nice to know this monastery when my friend Susan taught me. Then, we will fly to Beijing to climb the Great Wall, sneak into Forbidden City and check what could we take back(haha, joke, but souvenir is must), and Temple of Heaven(a miracle in the world, isn't it?).
Several days later, we will take flight from Beijing to Shanghai, actually, we planned nothing to tour Shanghai except the night cruise on Huangpu River around the Bund from China travel agent, for people back from China say Shanghai doesn't need any tour guide, and everything you can find near the downtown, and people in Shanghai basically know some English, so the only thing you should have is a map of Shanghai, which will give you a instruction to tour through Shanghai. So, my wife and my son jeff are decided to have our own fun, and all of us are prepared to lost in Shanghai, and if that happened, we will walk in different directions to check who will be the smart guy find the quickest way back to hotel. Haha, expecting to be lost and check who will be that guy. Shanghai Everbright Hotel, yes.
