Hotel well located in an idyllic setting on the scenic riverside in downtown Guilin, with nice view on the river, just few minutes away from all nearby atttractions.The hotel features a restaurant, swimming pool, sauna and massage. There are separate Eastern and Western style breakfast rooms, the Western one is a bar in the evenings. The Western breakfast is plentiful, fruit, cereals, eggs, bacon, bread, toast, etc. The Chinese evening meal, served in the ground floor restaurant is just about adequate. The hotel is located 10-15 minutes walk from the centre. For Elephant Trunk Hill (25 yuan) turn right, cross the road, go over the bridge and follow the river to the right .If you turn left at the main road instead of following the river you will come to the Lakes area. The lake on the right has the twin pagodas and the lake on the left has the Crystal bridge, old city gate and teahouse. Both of these are great walks, especially at night. The main road also has a huge night market. Finally, if you go out of the hotel and turn left, follow the path to the road, cross the road and take the first right and you will come to a local market - very interesting but not for the squeamish!! However, they couldn't get the heater to heat up the room even the temperature was low in February, so it wasn't very comfortable to sleep even they gave us a extra blanket.
