Baotu Spring, one of the three famous scenic spots in Jinan, is the most famous in all the springs. It is situated in the Baotu Spring Park that is located in the center of Jinan.
The spring is firstly built in 1956, and it is the representative of the gardens featuring mountains and waters, and it is also a place of historical interest and has the rich cultural connotation.
In the park, the main scene is Baotu Spring, which is about 30 meters long and 20 meters wide. Around the spring, there are big stones and railings, from where you can watch the marvel of the spew of the three springs. Near Baotu Spring, there are arranged Jinxian Spring, Shuyu Spring, Xibo Spring, Liuxu Spring, and many other springs, and they formed the springs.
Besides, the water in Baotu Spring is as clear as crystal with a delicious tasting, and it can be used as ideal drinking water. It was said that when the emperor Qianlong go to the south, he will take the water got from the Jade Spring in Beijing. But when he tasted the water in Baotu Spring, he threw the water from Beijing and chose the water from Baotu Spring instead, and then he conferred it as ''the First Spring in the World''.
