There are several ancient towns with thousands of years of history in Donghai Conty, Lianyungang. The Quyang Ancient Town is one of them and is also the best protected. Quyang Ancient Town's history rooted from West Han Dynasty with nearly two thousand years of history. The rampart of the ancient town is about 5 meters and the whole city was built with ocher and there are still some marks left on the wall. It is 160 meters on the north and east sides and 260 meters long on the west side; there is a gap on the southeast side. The ancient city is built of loess. Quyang was the origin of Taoism in ancient china. There are some cultural relics from the Han Dynasty unearthed here presently.
