Qingdao's Number One Beach is the best of its kind. It is famous for its gentle slopes, fine sand, clear water, and calm waves. The ocean's continually chuing waves have eroded the rocks into tiny pebbles that have accumulated to form soft silver sand on the beach. The smooth sea is very suitable for water sports and activities.
The Number One Beach is located around Huiquan Bend of Qingdao. The beach stretches a length of roughly 580 meters and is about 40 meters wide, and is surrounded by mountains on three sides. Mode buildings and traditional villas blend together to create a quaint and charming picture.
Number One beach facilities include showers, toilets, and large rest halls offering leisure time and refreshments for swimmers. Other facilities are the beach boxes visitors can make use of, including two kinds: aboveground and underground. The bathing boxes on the ground are made of wood, characteristic of the colonial German style. The underground bathing box is about 2,000 square meters, and all the beach boxes underground are decorated with lighting. The first bathing beach can hold 200,000 swimmers.
