All are 3,500 meters (11,483 feet) above the sea level and at 4,122-meter (13,524-feet), Malong Peak is the highest. In between every two peaks are streams, and water rushes down the mountain and pours into Erhai Lake. These streams originate from spring water or thawing snow and irrigate the farmlands around.
Erhai Lake is the largest highland lake next to Dianchi and one of the seven biggest fresh water lakes in China. It means, 'sea shaped like an ear', in Chinese. Implying that the lake is ear shaped and as large as a sea, hence it was so named. The lake covers an area of 250 square kilometers and is located about two kilometers east of Dali. It is like a crescent lying between Cangshan and Dali city as seen from Cangshan Mount.
Take bus to Lijiang and visit Dongba Holy Land in Naxi area which is back on to the south of Yulong Snow Mountain. It is said that camellia tree was planted in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and that is to say, the tree is older than the temple. The camellia tree is three meters (ten feet) in height and 34 centimeters (one foot) in diameter and the Lamas in Yufeng Temple pleach the blanches of the camellia tree subtly into a 56 square meters (67 yards) flowery canopy. It is the real 'King of the Camellia Trees'.

It enjoys a long history of over 800 years and unlike most of the old towns in China, there are no city walls due to a superstitious belief of the local ruler whose family name was Mu, meaning "tree", when encircled by walls, would be Kun, meaning "besieged". Wooden structures, mountains, small rivers, and lanes integrate harmoniously in this mountain town. The town is reputed as the 'Oriental Venice' and 'Suzhou in Highland', but it is much, much more than this.
